SPONSORED WALK FROM OLDHAM TO ALTRINCHAM

Altrincham FC Community Sports (the Football Club’s Charitable organisation) made a small financial loss last year.

These losses are not sustainable so to avoid increasing costs to our user groups we need to raise extra funds. Thus, we have organised a sponsored walk from Oldham AFC to the J. Davidson Stadium on Monday 1st April 2024 with an 8.00am leave time from the Boundary Park.

The money raised will go directly to our many programmes that support children, young people & adults in Altrincham & South Trafford and help us to keep them accessible for all.

You can sponsor us through the button below.

We would very much appreciate any kind donations towards the work we do.

Altrincham FC Community Sports is a registered charity (#1154394). Grants from The National League Trust and money raised through annual fundraising events allow us to carry out the majority of our work.

As some supporters will know, the Altrincham FC Community Sports Co was set up in March 2012, and became a Registered Charity from October 2013. The Community activities have been consistently supported by the Football Conference Trust. This is a charity that offers grant aid to National League clubs to support and develop their community projects.

Funding is made possible by the generous support of the Premier League and the Professional Footballers Association. Each has contributed to a fund of £5.2m, and as a result over 59 National League clubs are currently running projects like ours, after receiving funding from the Trust.

We would like to thank the National League Trust, The Premier League and The PFA for their continued support.

On Friday 18th September 2015 the hall hosted a Q&A session with Roy Keane which was a great event. Stacey Rowley, who was General Manager at the time writes:

“I would like to, on behalf of the AFC community company, say a big thank you to everyone who came to our Roy Keane sportsmanship dinner on Friday night, the evening was a huge success and we managed to raise over £10,000, this will make a significant impact on the remaining build costs.

We would also like to make a special mention to Roy Keane for donating his time and going above and beyond what we ever imagined, answering questions for over 1.5 hours, signing autographs and having his picture taken with everyone who asked. Thank you to everyone who had a part in our most successful event to date.”

On Friday November 14th 2014, the Guest Speakers of the Sportsman’s Dinner were Robbie Savage and Darren Fletcher from Radio 5 live:

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the Sportsman’s Dinner on Friday November 14th 2014, the Guest Speakers Robbie Savage and Darren Fletcher from Radio 5 live – 606, were fantastic entertainment and answered all questions just as they would on their Saturday show live on radio. They surprised us during the night by offering a unique auction item, a day at the 606 show alongside both Savage and Fletcher while they recorded the show. The auction overall was a huge success in particular the Manchester United Limited Edition Opus Book, kindly donated by the Manchester United Foundation, was won by Martin Nolan.

The Cresta Court Hotel yet again provided a delicious meal and excellent service throughout the evening. The money raised from this evening will help contribute towards the continued fundraising of the new Community Sports Hall. We look forward to seeing you all at the next Sportsman’s Dinner early next year which will be held in our Community Sports Hall where we will hopefully see former Premier League player Danny Higginbotham as our guest speaker.”

We also held a very successful ‘60’s, 70’s and 80’s disco’ on 25th October 2013, which raised over £750. Thanks to Neil Faulkner, who did a great job in organising the event and Richie Bentley who organised ‘The Stalybridge Stomp’ to raise funds.
